How do you get on the social media marketing bus for your business?

There are a lot of companies out there that will offer to "do" your social media for you. This might mean setting up a Facebook profile and YouTube Channel, but also tweeting, status updating, commenting etc.

We will do social media plans, help set up the platforms and guide your activities.

But if you ask us to take care of all the updates - we are likely to say "No".

Why won't we?

It's the same reason we don't get Gavin, our Plumber, to do ours. Gavin is a nice guy, stuffed full of information about ballcocks, valves and water pressure (not to mention football, horse racing, classic cars and the care of tropical fish) that he can talk about for hours - but when it comes to the online world.... not so much!

While creating content is a key element, a lot of social media activity for business involves communicating with potential and actual clients. This requires an in-depth understanding of your business products and services.

You are the expert in your business, not us - so with the right help you will do a much better job.

Not only that, but your customers and your reputation are core to your business.

Outsourcing it means someone else would be representing your business with every customer (real or potential), suppliers, competitors and industry commentators. We don't think it is appropriate for an agency to be responsible for something so important.

We all know what it's like to deal with those large corporate call centres that have been outsourced to an anonymous (and uncaring) off-shore service, don't we?

Social is something you are - not something you "Do" and needs an ongoing commitment to be successful.

And there are enough stories of social media fails to illustrate this.

We do however, provide social media planning, monitoring and support - happily.
